Subaru, in the meantime, is trimming output at an Indiana plant, while halting manufacturing at a manufacturing unit in Japan for 2 days whereas it assesses its supply state of affairs. Volkswagen, in turn, has slowed operations at factories in North America, Europe and China. The Ford plant in Louisville, Kentucky — along with its 3,900 workers — stands idle this week, after the automaker was compelled to quickly halt manufacturing because of shortages of crucial microprocessors and different pc chips. The F-Series franchise alone generates more revenue than main corporations similar to McDonalds US, Nike, Coca-Cola, Visa and Netflix and is among the most dear client goods in America – larger than all main league sports. Of the more than 2m full-sized pickup vehicles assembled in the US in 2019, Ford assembled practically half – twice as many as another automaker. It also exported 280,000 US-assembled automobiles to markets outside of the US, greater than any other auto manufacturer, or one in six.
