Overweight persons will not have another source of energy in the form of bodyfasts which the body will burn for fuel. This is what they call ketosis. Absence of carbohydrates helps the body to lose fats but your muscles are still maintained because of the presence of protein in your body.
If you are able to sustain the fats-protein-carbohydrate ratio then you will be able to maintain the state of ketosis and be successful in your weight loss program. In this diet, your body fats are being used to energize the body and soon enough your body fats will start to be used slowly which results in weight loss. Since fat takes long to digest, you don’t really feel hunger and always feel full.
You can maintain this keto diet for the weekdays and then weekends can be your carbs up day. It is important that some days you take carbs since this will also allow the body to take in other important nutrients that the body needs for growth.
